Not to tempt fate in any way but the weather seems to be brighter and, in turn, event organisers are beginning to enquire more about outdoor team building events. Only this week, we had this year’s first It’s a Knockout team building challenge. The rain was held at bay and the sun peeked from behind the clouds to allow our 60 participants to enjoy a fun-packed afternoon.
Our unwitting participants walked from their coach out onto the venue balcony to find an array of huge inflatable games and other team challenges set out in the grounds before them.
Collin, our mad-capped sporting compere, quickly briefed everyone on rules, safety and winning tips before everyone charged downstairs to let the games begin.
We first had a hilarious body warm-up with each team wiggling and stretching to music before everyone moved over to the first of six challenges.
What followed was an afternoon of outrageous cheering, gasping, cheating and winning. We left all the slippy, wet and soapsud challenges until last. Colleagues seeing each other almost reach their steep inclined target only to miss and slide back through the bubbles to the beginning was priceless fun.
In between each major challenge, we had teams gaining extra bonus points with on-the-spot mini activities so the fun and games never stopped.
After a tense last round of inflatable finales, it was time to dry off, head indoors for a well-earned drink and be coached out for dinner, where all the day’s results would be announced and winning medals presented.
I would like to say a great big thank you to everyone in our event team, who made the day a winning experience for all.
With an eye on the warm coming months, if you want to get your team out of the meeting room for a blast of fresh air, just let us know. Our outdoor options are almost endless and we look forward to helping you decide what best fits your group.
