This week has been extremely busy with events in far-flung destinations in the UK. We have had a ball, zooming off to diverse locations and bringing with us surprise and fun. My personal tour of England started with a very long drive on Saturday to the west coast of Wales, where we delivered our Crashing Waiters event for a wedding.
The poor unassuming groom didn’t know what had happened to his perfect day as our undercover waiters spoilt the speeches (just as planned) and then broke into a percussion show. The bride (who had booked us) had pulled a huge surprise on him and all the guests!
There was no rest for us on Sunday as one of the world’s most famous hotels required the ultimate party opener. Our African team of singers, drummers and dancers welcomed hundreds of guests with their hypnotic rhythms before launching into their tribal dancing. The theme was just perfect too, with the entire room decorated as a dense jungle.
It was almost impossible to stand still and the whole room was swaying, jumping and moving as our team ramped up the energy and had everyone transfixed. This talented group achieved the perfect balance between demonstrating their culture and letting guests have the best interactive experience. The same team looks after all of our gumboot dancing events and our Out of Africa dinner entertainment option.
There is nothing like the energy and sound that this team can produce. From the second the team began, Africa was completely present. The smiles, costumes and, ultimately, the music produced were absolutely amazing. We had the sights and colour of the swirling dancers set to a backdrop of virtuoso drumming.
Guests just couldn’t help themselves getting involved, and this set the tone for the whole evening.
Whether used as a welcome drinks entertainment option or as an after-dinner surprise, our African team will have all the guests at your party or dinner on their feet and totally inspired.
This group is totally self-contained, requires no amplification and is fully mobile. Members of the group are all multi instrumentalists. As you can see from the photo, they just scream colour and energy!
Now is the time to book our African team for your late summer events that require something new and vibrant.
On Monday, I had a trip to Plymouth to deliver an African tribal event, which entailed delivering a mixture of traditional song, dance and drumming to a young group.
On Wednesday, we were in lovely Lowestoft with our Urban Jam event, and on Thursday we delivered another Urban Jam activity in Manchester.
It was a fantastic week, and a huge thank you goes to all the event managers and staff. Have a great weekend everyone.
