For many years we have worked with a fair trade company, which specialises in supplying ethnic instruments. In the past, it has been possible, with smaller group sizes, for us to fly and simply check in up to forty drums. Unfortunately, this is now impossible with all the excess luggage restrictions. It also used to really frustrate passengers waiting to check in behind us! We deliberately avoid hiring drums that are local to a venue, since we have heard so many horror stories, including instruments being in terrible condition and instruments not showing up at all.
So, our worldwide clients can buy the same set of drums for the drumming session itself and for giveaways. We have all the drums sent by courier directly to the venue, wherever it is located in the world, saving substantial travel costs.
The participants use the drums within their team building activities. Then, as part of the finale section, when the energy and excitement reach their highest peaks, participants are told that they can keep their drums! The audience response is always outstanding. With beaming smiles and a look of disbelief, everyone leaves the conference room inseparable from his or her new musical acquisition.
